McInnes, Donald

It is with broken hearts that the family announces the unexpected passing of Don McInnes, 71 years of age, on September 18, 2020.  Predeceased by his parents Edward and Helen McInnes.  Beloved husband of Julie (nee Stafford).  Loving father of Jessica Smith of Chilliwack, BC (from a previous marriage), Joshua (Stephani), Ryan (Karlie) both of Sudbury and Meghan (fiancé Brett) of Timmins.  Loving grandfather to Cobe, Cash, Abel and Sophia. Don will be missed by his siblings Marion Poirier (the late Ray), the late James, Darlene Rawlick (James), Betty Bouillon (Richard) and the late David.  Don will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law Mary (the late Oscar Stafford), brother-in-law to Luanne Holla (Randy), John (Shana), Peter, the late Kathleen Bertrand (Tim) and Michael (Shannon).  Don was loved by his many nieces and nephews. He gave so much to his family and asked for so little. Don had a passion for politics; becoming animated when the subject was discussed.  He was well read, so he provided his family and friends with insight into the world of politics.  Don always looked for opportunities thus held various careers throughout his life owning businesses in the entertainment, food and lottery sectors.  He loved music especially the Rolling Stones.  Don will always be remembered as a kind and gentle person. Due to COVID-19, a private family celebration will be held in the future where we will share our memories and celebrate Don’s life. Donations to the NEO Kids Foundation would be appreciated in honor of Don’s memory.

    Don was a great man.
I got to know him well when we had our franchise restaurants. Aldo enjoyed our talks at the lottery kiosk. Don was also a good family man and spoke often of his kids. My condolences to all the family at this difficult time.
