Harvey, Raymond John

 It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Raymond John Harvey, 80 years old, on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of 58 years to Claire Harvey (née Labranche). Loving father of Cheryl Claire Harvey. Cherished grandfather of Sarah and Gina and great grandfather of Sonny. Ray was happiest in his beloved wife’s company. Most mornings they sat side by side in the porch together, soaking in the view of their beautiful pond and manicured lawn while sipping early morning coffees, listening to the chatter of songbirds, and working over crossword puzzles. Ray loved to tell jokes. Friends and family always looked forward to hearing a new joke, or politely laughing to one he had shared with them more than once. Ray could often be heard laughing by himself from his comfy chair in the living room as he read and reread his joke books. And Ray loved to fish. His spirit will be on the water, waiting to catch the next big lake trout.  In keeping with the family’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. We thank the staff at the Cancer Centre, and we thank Dr.  Emily Dubé for their dedicated care.
