The family announces with sorrow the passing of Walter “Aurele” Martin at the age of 92 on Monday December 30, 2019 in Sudbury, ON. Beloved husband of his late wife Clara Richard Martin, loving father of Pierre (Beth), Paul (Karen) and Joanne Sarrazin (Michel). Proud grandfather of Justin, Josee, Erika, Marissa, Evan and 4 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Walter’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private burial ceremony will take place in New Brunswick where he will join Clara later this summer.

Dear Pete, Paul, Joanne and families. It is with great sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. Both your parents were wonderful caregivers to our girls while living on Carmen Street. But more than that, your family became our very dear and close friends. Your dad always had so many stories to tell, but some of our fondest moments were when he would show up at our house in his Santa suit after his final greeting at the New Sudbury shopping centre. The girls were always in awe how Santa visited them personally. Your dad is sure to be happy now that he is with his beloved Claire. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
