St-Germain, Daniel “Big Bird”

January 4, 1939 – October 16, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing with family by his side at the Elizabeth Centre, Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the age of 83 years.

Son of the late Edwidge (nee Carriere) and Thomas St-Germain. Loving Husband for 63 years to Lorraine (nee Rainville) St-Germain. Father to André (Sherryl), Léo (Pauline), Suzanne (Norm), Lyne (Marc) and Lise (Rob). Pépère to Austin (Carissa), Preston, Tylor (Megan), Keenan, Michael, Karen, Eric (Kristine). Robert (Monique, François (Patience), Melissa, Kevin, Jeff (Lisa) and Anna (Winnie). Great-Grandfather to River, Ema, Cody, Lindsey, Kyle, Ashley, Zachary, Gabrielle, Benoît, Nicholas and Marie.

He was the baby of his family therefore, Daniel will be joining his parents, Edwidge and Thomas, brother David and sisters Gabrielle, Marielle and Noëlla.

Daniel was a hard-working man starting with construction work at Pioneer Construction following with Ambulatory Services in Sudbury. After starting their family by adoptions, he hired on at INCO Mines for more stability. They bought their first home in Minnow Lake in 1969 and completed their family with 5 children.

Daniel was also a well-known musician never missing an opportunity to play guitar and entertain with country music at home or around a campfire.

Special thanks to the staff in “Area 2” of the Elizabeth Centre for all their compassion and extended care. A special thank you to Hailey, Reg, Wanda, Solange, Teresa, Louise, Monique and Francine especially in Daniel’s final days.

To honor our dad’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services as he always said, “one pick up”.
