Salo, Paul

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Salo, 73 years of age on Saturday, June 27th, 2020.  Loving son of the late Toivo and Vieno Salo.  Beloved husband to Alverne Salo (predeceased 1999).  Loving father to Jim Roque (Julia), Larry Roque (Louise), Lorilynn Roque (Brent), and Angie Salo (Keon Biladeau).   He will be sadly missed by his 9 grandchildren, Eric, Melanie, Emma, Jimmy, Zacharie, Carter, Abby, Makenna and Madyson and his great grandson Kameron. Loving brother of Sulo (predeceased), Raymond (Hilkka), Elise (Paul predeceased), Kenny (Brenda), Norman (predeceased), Billy (predeceased), and Robert.  Loving brother in law to Kathleen Low and long-time friends Gene & Maureen Solomon. Paul was a special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Paul was a dedicated employee of Copper Cliff Dairy for 46 years where he formed many lifelong friendships. Sadly, the Toronto Maple Leafs have lost one of their biggest all-time fans (Go Leafs Go!).  Paul will forever be remembered for his quick-witted humor; his positive attitude and infections smile. He was a kind and caring man who always put his family first and was a valued friend to all.  He looked forward to, and thoroughly enjoyed all family gatherings.  He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and always told them how proud he was of all their achievements.  As per Paul’s request there will be no formal visitation but to all those who knew him his door is always open (especially Friday, July 10th, 2020 any time after 2 p.m.).  Due to COVID interment will be scheduled at a later date.  Anyone who was lucky enough to know Paul is aware of how generous he was with many local charities.  In lieu of flowers donations to one of his favorite charities such as the Sudbury Food Bank, Easter Seals, Heart & Stroke, Diabetes, March of Dimes (ABI Program), Habitat for Humanity, Canadian Red Cross or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Special thanks to his March of Dimes PSW’s, he appreciated all your assistance and enjoyed your visits.  We would also like to thank the HSN ICU Doctors and Nurses for their amazing care and to the staff on the 8th floor, our Dad had nothing but good things to say about the care he was receiving, thank you for all you do!
