Sadly and suddenly at the age of 86, we said goodbye to the Patriarch of our Rowlands family. Beloved husband of 62 years to Kay (Lawrence)Rowlands. Son of Frank and Dorothy (Turnbull) Rowlands. Loving father of Derrick (Lyn), Doug (Jocelyne), Dan (Sylvie, Margaret (predeceased)), Wayne (Brenda), Robert and Michael. Grandfather to Melissa, Tammy, Gabriel, Garret, Shawna, Derek, Jesse, Brady, Wade, Kiersten. Great grandfather of 9 and special uncle of many. Brother of Betty (George), John (Joan), George (Joan), Judy (Doug), Bruce (Lauralee). Predeceased by Bill (Mary-Lou), Doug, Janet (Jim-predeceased), Sandra (Jim), Patsy (Yvan). Bob was a joy to be around as anyone who knew him would attest. The door to the house was always open, and you can often find large groups of friends and family gatherings in the back yard. The neighborhood dogs will also miss him as he was known for always carrying dog treats in his pockets. After retiring at the age of 56 with 30 plus years at INCO. Bob and Kay enjoyed life to the fullest. Cruising the seas or playing the slots in Vegas or just travelling around in their Motorhome camping and fishing. The one sport he enjoyed the most was baseball, watching the Jays or his many years of playing in league and tournaments. Due to Covid issues a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
