Kingsley, Helen (nee Dalton)

It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of their mom and nana, on Saturday December 5th, 2020. Born on September 6, 1944 in London Ontario, Helen moved to Garson in 1967 where she remained the rest of her years. Helen was the daughter of Margaret (nee Sturgeon) and Floyd Dalton, both predeceased. She is predeceased by her sisters Molly, Nola, Peggy (Ben), and Norma (Larry). Helen is survived by her children Maxine (Mike), Marilyn (Branden) and Shannon (Avril), as well as her grandchildren Jordan, Haley, Emily (Alex), Maddison, Katelyn, Deegan, and Jaxon – all of whom she was so proud. She is fondly remembered by extended family, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Helen had a passion for gardening – her entire yard was full of beautiful flowers. She spent summers in her yard and the colder months collecting and sorting the seeds from her flowers to get ready for spring. She also brought that passion into her artwork and many flower paintings. These paintings were showcased at the Hospice several years ago. We used to tease the grandchildren not to stay still too long or Nana might paint a flower on you! There is a reason her license plate said CRZENANA! Every holiday season, Helen cooked dozens of her famous meat pies, but gifted most to family and friends. We would like to thank Dr. Tenhunen and the Palliative Care team, as well as the teams on 4 North at Health Sciences North, for their exemplary care of dear mother over the past few years. At Helen’s request, there will be no service or visitation. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made directly to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or the Lung Association.
