It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Pierre “Peter” Dumont with family by his side on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at his residence. Cherished father of Lisa (Joe), P.J (Genevieve) and Kelly. Loving grandfather of Megan (Robbie), Cole, Callie, Kassidy, Trinity, Ean, Taylor and Marshall; great grandfather of Sadie and Mason. He will be sadly remembered by his sister Yolande (Don) Dafoe, nephew Brandon and his “Best Buddy” Mark Dumont as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Born in Sudbury on September 12, 1950 he was the son of the late Aldege and Anita Dumont (nee Dube). Pierre worked at Falconbridge as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic for 40+ years before enjoying retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and you could always count on Peter for a good laugh. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to nurse Doris from Bayshore, and Tim and Shannon from Dowling IDA. Due to pandemic restrictions, a Celebration of Life and internment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made directly to the Cartier Community Center or the Cartier Fire Department and would be greatly appreciated.
