The family announces with great sorrow, the passing of Allan H. Dane on September 10, 2020. Dad was 94 years of age. He passed away peacefully at home. Beloved husband of Dorothea (predeceased). Loving father of Wayne (Joanie), Ronald (Diane), Patricia (Bob), Clifford (Mary), William (Monique), Kim (Eddie), Karen (Ron) and our family adopted friend Gayle (Ken). Cherished grandfather to Keith (predeceased), Thomas (Janet), Jeff (Sharon), Allan-Paul, Megan (Marc), Leah (Tyson), Sarah (Dan), Pam, Tracy (Michael), Curtis (Nikki), Justin (Wendy), Melissa (Brent), Michelle, Mitch, Matthew, Rodney (Kayla), Ryan (Lynn), Hayley (Lawrence). Great grandfather to twenty-six and Great great grandfather to three. Dad is survived by his sister Eileen. Predeceasing him were his sisters, Eynice and Kay and his brothers Larry, Leonard, Geordy, Lionel and Keith. Fondly and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was a Winter Texan for many years and will be missed by his Magic Valley Park friends. Dad always placed family first and was most happy when family gatherings occurred. His sense of humour, and many one liners will be missed. Dad served with the RCAF in his younger days and was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 503. He was a well-respected Warehouse Supervisor at INCO for many years prior to his retirement. Dad loved to play cards and was especially great at cribbage. He was known to sing a couple of classic Irish songs and did it rather well. The family extends many thanks to Dr. W. Kealy, Dr. J. Laski, and her nurse Barb for the care and compassion shown to Dad and his family. At Dad’s request, there will be no visitation or service.
Condolence to my high school friends Billy and Cliff on the loss of their father
