Verdiel, Ian P.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian Peter Verdiel Nov. 12th, 2024, at the age of 75.

Ian met his wife Brenda of 49 years while working at Kidd Creek Mines. Ian was known as the gentle giant that loved his family. His indomitable positive attitude his sheer resilience and unwavering patients allowed him to handle the hard stuff very well.

Ian worked at Kidd Creek then transferred to Sudbury and worked at Falconbridge and Xstrada for 35 years. He was a metallurgical engineer that gave his all to his job.

Ian is survived by his sons Jeremy (wife Jennifer) and children William and Clara: Spencer (Courtney) Olivia and Levi: Michael (Jill) Braeden, Oscar, Raina, and Owen: Brent (Amy) Payton and Jake: Wade and his son Nolan. He was met by his 6th son who lost his battle to cancer at the age of 5. What a reunion that would be as he shows his Dad the way.

Ian is also survived by his loving Brothers and Sisters Michael (Arlene); Colleen (Jim); Terry (Donna) and Catherine (John) plus his nieces and nephews.

Ian was also a father to many though out the years sharing his guidance and patience. They will all miss him dearly.

A small gathering was held at the farm with his fire burning for 48 hours. This gave people the opportunity to send letters to their own loved ones in heaven. In lieu of flowers donation can be made to Registered Charity Whinnying In Life; 5134 Dupuis Drive, Hanmer, Ontario P3P 0B3.
