In deep sadness the family announces the passing of Kasey Adam Spence, 31 years, who passed away peacefully at 1pm on Monday, September 28th, 2026 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice. Beloved son of Susan (Jodie) Frugtniet (nee Spence) of Sudbury. Loving brother of Robyn Frugtniet (Jonas Pineda) of Calgary and Shani Frugtniet (Derek Spencer) of Lethbridge. Loving cousin of Holly, Gregory, and Kate. Dear nephew of Randy Spence (predeceased) (Janette), Lindsay Spence (predeceased), and Kirsty Mann (Bart) of Clarksburg, Ontario. Cherished grandson of Robert J. Spence of Owen Sound, Ontario and predeceased by Nan Spence (nee Williscroft).
A special thank you to the nurses, doctors, and staff at Health Sciences North – in 2026 as well as his debut in 2018 – especially emerg, respiratory care, and the ICU. For the last six and a half years, Kasey was cared for by the loving staff at Bishop Alexander Carter House, through the March of Dimes, where he was a beloved part of the family. Kasey suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2018, and his death is the result of the natural decline since that injury. The family is thankful to everyone who helped Kasey to live the fullest life possible during the extra time they were blessed to have with him before God called him home.
There will be a celebration of Kasey’s life on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 from 2pm-4pm at Sudbury First Nations Church, Yahweh Cave entrance, at 571 Kathleen St, where friends and relatives are invited to join the family.
