It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Gayle Edna Rogerson (née Barry) at the age of 78. Gayle passed peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Health Sciences North with her family by her side.
Gayle loved and cherished husband Ken Rogerson of 47 years, they were an incredible team. Gayle loved her boys and all they brought to her life; late Rick, Dave (Tracy), and Kenny (Leslie). Gayle will be missed most of all by her grandchildren; Hannah (Haley), Jacob & David Rogerson, and Braeden & Talon Deschamps.
Gayle was born to Harold and Edna Barry (both predeceased), on July 27th, 1946. Gayle loved every minute with her brothers and sister; Alan (late Rita), Joe (Valerie), Francis MacAdams (late Wilfred), and (late) Gord (Linda).
Gayle made a difference in every life she touched, this includes her many nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends. Gayle was always welcoming and a fantastic host. She was always there for everyone, be it a good joke, or a listening ear. She just cared for the people who came into her life. We would like to acknowledge Gayle’s niece Jane Keir and the Keir family, Jean & Jack (late), for being there every step of the way.
Gayle was raised in New Sudbury (Junction) and enjoyed time working and camping. Gayle and Ken moved to Onaping in 1989 where they made new friends and were officially adopted into the Dane family (Al & Dot). Gayle became involved with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 503. Gayle’s Legion career spanned over 20 years where she became Branch President, as well as many years as Zone & District Treasurer, earning her many accolades and the Queen’s Jubilee Award.
Gayle was a lighthouse of affection, and a beacon of happiness. Her light will shine brightly as time goes on.
A Celebration of Gayle’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 503, Onaping Falls, (3 St. James Street) on Saturday, January 18, 2025 beginning at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to the Onaping Falls Legion Branch 503, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated
