It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard J. Robitaille, who passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025 at the age of 86 at Maison McCulloch Hospice.
Born July 16, 1939, in Penetanguishene, Richard was son of Treffle and Marie-Anne Robitaille (both predeceased). He was the beloved husband of the late Beatrice Robitaille (nee Potter), with whom he shared a life of love, family and their passion of gardening. Treasured father to Mark (Catherine), Margaret, Carol (Mike), Patrick and Tammy. Cherished Pere to Ryan, Blair (Geoff), Christene (Danny), Jennifer and Natalie (Brandon). Great grandfather to Lily-Anne, Aidan, Mathieu and Mazikeen.
Richard came from a large family of 15 siblings and stepsiblings. He is survived by his brothers Venard (late wife Donna), David (wife Irene), and sisters Marie-Rose (husband Victor) and Irene (husband Bill). The late following brothers and sisters predeceased him: Raymond (survived by wife Exilda), Isreal (survived by wife Diane), Eugene (survived by wife Germaine), Noella (survived by husband Albert), Romeo, Albert (wife Hortense), Rita (husband Andrew), Alpha (husband Cena), Leo (wife Fleurette), Gabriel (survived by wife Cecile) and Treffle.
He was a proud man who held man jobs from construction to carpentry, mining to his last job at the age of 79 on a farm working with animals. He enjoyed gardening and mostly building his own home. One of Richards favorite past times both from a young man to his golden years was just to go for a ride and have ice cream! He had an amazing sweet tooth!

Richard’s funeral will take place at St. Christopher’s church in Whitefish, ON, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 am.
He will be loved and missed by all♥
