Robineau, Claire

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Claire Annette Marie Robineau (née Picard) on October 17th, 2026 at the age of 72, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, René Robineau, Claire was blessed to spend many loving years with her devoted partner, Dennis Cropper, who remained faithfully by her side throughout her illness.

Born on January 28th, 1954, Claire was the daughter of the late Arthur and Florida (Gauthier) Picard. She leaves behind her siblings Raymond Picard (Karen), André Picard (predeceased by Beverly), Fern Picard (Debbie), and Aline Lacoste (predeceased by Don). She was predeceased by her brother, Maurice Picard.

Loving mother of Mike Robineau and Ken Robineau (Brooke), and cherished stepmother of David Robineau. Proud grandmother of Rain, Atlas, Harper, and River, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Nothing brought Claire greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them whenever she had the chance.

Claire will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives she touched over the years. A loyal friend, loving mother and grandmother, she cared deeply for those around her. Those who knew her best will cherish memories of her strength, generosity, sense of humour, and unwavering love for her family.

In her later years, Claire enjoyed life’s simpler pleasures, especially gathering around the kitchen table for card games, laughter, and time spent with those she loved. She also found great companionship in her beloved dog, Gunner, who held a special place in her heart.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of the Northeast Cancer Centre and to the caregivers at Maison McCulloch Hospice for the exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided to Claire and her family throughout her illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire’s memory may be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice by clicking here. At Claire’s request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
