Quackenbush, Harvey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey (George) Quackenbush on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the age of 78.

Born in Sudbury, he was the son of the late Ivan and Margaret (née McCauley) Quackenbush. Harvey is survived by the love of his life Suzanne (née Reasbeck) of 57 years, by siblings, Sister Sarah, Robert (Bonnie), children Greg (Paula), Carole. His grandchildren Joey (Kaitlyn), Valerie (Nathan), and great grandchild Madeline. He will be missed by many aunts, nieces and nephews. He was a special friend of Bill W.

Harvey had many passions and talents in his life. Family, traveling and spending countless hours camping at Bonanza Lake with family and friends.  A busy man who was always on the go with any task he could think of. Harvey was an avid volunteer for many local organizations.  A 30-year career at INCO, and always telling a joke or striking up a conversation. Harvey will be remembered for his good-natured teasing, and great sense of humour which brought smiles to all who knew him. He was devoted to his loving family who will miss him very much, but always cherish and celebrate his memories, and values.

The family would like to express gratitude to the staff at Health Sciences North and the Northeast Cancer Centre for their compassion and care. If you wish to make a donation in Harvey’s name, please do so to, the Garson Food Bank or the Ronald McDonald House would be greatly appreciated.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, 255 Church St., Garson on Wednesday, August 2,, 2023 at 10:00am.
