It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Rita Marie Proulx, who passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Health Sciences North at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of Victor Proulx (predeceased). Loving mother of Raymond (Linda-predeceased), Rene (Cathy), Bea and Kathy (predeceased). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Joanne (Keith), Michael (Sabrina), Christopher (Michelle), Craig, Ryan (Shea), Natalie (Jeff) and by her adored great grandchildren Ethan, Jack, Adina, Sadie, Lucy, Alice, Kaiya, Riley, and Grady. Born in Gogama, on May 22, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William and Marie Laderoute (nee Poulin). Rita will be fondly remembered for her love of hosting family dinners, gardening, baking and especially teaching her granddaughter in-law Sabrina to follow in her culinary footsteps, fishing and most of all her love for her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will also be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, especially when her grandson-in-law Keith would chauffer her to her doctor appointments, she always stayed positive and made him laugh as well as her world-famous pies and pastries. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
