Piché, Gerald “Gerry”

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our father, Gerald (Gerry) Daniel Piché, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury.

Born on October 25, 1935, in Massey, Ontario, he married Joyce Guthrie of Warren, Ontario, on April 19, 1958. They shared a beautiful life together until her passing on February 15, 2006.

Gerald lived a long and healthy life. He worked as a linesman for Northern Telephone, retiring in October 1992 after 36 years of dedicated service. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter in North Cobalt, Ontario, for many years. Countless happy summers were shared by many at the family cottage (camp).

Gerald leaves behind his five children: Ruth-Ann (Tom, deceased), Linda (Vic), Janice (Steve), Raymond (Bonnie), and Pauline (Allen); ten grandchildren: Jason, Troy, Lance, Jessica, Travis, Levitt, Kristina, Anthony, Ayden, Oliver; eleven great-grandchildren: Kaleb, Teya, Korra, Bodean, Royce, Hailey, Drake, Pheoby, Jéremie, Jane, Juliette, and Chloe; and one great-great-grandchild, Odin.

Gerald was a dear brother to Edward, Gert, Richard, and Jeannette. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Leona; his brothers, Wally (Vivi) and Leonard Jr.; and his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Elenor, André, and Joe. A celebration of Life will take place in the near Future. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made directly to the Alzheimer Society or any charity of your choice.

  3. Condolences to all of Uncle Gerry’s children and grandchildren.

My fondest memories of Uncle Gerry are the summers at the cottage, where we all received our swimming lessons. Those are memories I’ll always cherish. We will miss you dearly.

I’m sure that as I’m writing this, you’re sitting with Auntie Joyce, Memère, and Pépère, playing euchre together again. ❤️
