Surrounded by the love of her family Emelda passed away at Health Sciences North on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the age of 87.
Predeceased by her parents Albert and Germaine (nee Rheaume) Landry and her husband Leo Patry (2017). Loving mother to Marcel and Denise McGee (Ray, predeceased) (Yvon Gravel). Cherished grandmother to Crystal McGee (Derek Bazinet) and Kayla Auger (Chris). Proud great grandmother to Adrien Ray McGee. Survived by her dear brother, Clément and sisters-in-law Cécile and Mable. Predeceased by (Françoise), Étienne, Ernest (Lucie), Estelle Turpin (Fern), Ulysse and Georgette Brabant (Léo). Emelda will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, her extended and much loved McGee Family and her dear friend Tina.
Emelda will be fondly remembered for many wonderful occasions spent with family and friends. She had a special way about her that enabled her to make friends easily and she had many. She was much loved and well respected in her community. Emelda was well known for her knitting. She was the “best mom ever” to her children and their children, anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great grandchild and being overjoyed at getting to meet him.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Alexander Church (100 Gaudette Street, Chelmsford, ON P0M 1L0), date and time to be announced.
If desired, donations in Emelda’s memory may be made directly to the Northern Cancer Foundation, Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Kidney Foundation of Canada and would be appreciated by the family.
