He is survived by his wife Norma (nee Silvestri) O’Rourke of 64 years and his loving daughters Kelly (Myles) and Shannon (Gareth). He will be dearly remembered by his grandsons Carey (Rachael), Evan (Annette), Gavin (Erin), and Kieran (Beth). Adoring great grandpa to Everett and Eleanor. Cherished uncle to Scott (Odette) and Mary Beth. Barry will be dearly missed by close friends Tim & Lisa, Al & Josée, and their families. He was a doting grandpup to Oliver (predeceased) and his little buddy Spencer. Barry will be fondly remembered  by many family members and friends. His greatest love and fondest memories were when he was with his family and/or close friends and looked forward to the many gatherings they had together.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church (1887 Bancroft Dr., Sudbury, ON) on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00AM.

A special thank you to the hospice care team at the Maison McCulloch Hospice. Thank you for the dedication to your work and to your patients. Everyone was so warm, caring, and loving.

If desired, donations may be made directly to Maison McCulloch Hospice in Barry’s name and would be appreciated by his family.

  6. I never met Barry personally, but had a number of phone conversations with him in the the last few years to pick his brain about the Police Department during his time there. I found him to be a genial and well informed gentleman, and know that he would spend time with many of our retirees over the years at socials and golf tournaments. Many SPA pensioners knew Barry. Condolences to his family.
