Mouland, Maurice “Moe”

November 7, 1969 - July 25, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice “Moe” Mouland, who passed away peacefully at home at the age of 56, in Sudbury, Ontario.

Moe was the beloved son of Ralph and Jennie Mouland, a cherished brother of Trudy (Jason) Bridge, and a proud father of Zackary Mouland, who was his greatest gift. He was predeceased by his beautiful daughter, Mia Mouland, whose memory remained forever in his heart, as well as his grandparents, Chesley and Elva Anstey of Springdale, Newfoundland and Dolph and Maude Mouland of Musgrave Harbour, Newfoundland. Moe was a proud and loving uncle to Riley and Kailey Bridge and will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Moe discovered his passion for hairstyling at a young age and built an impressive career doing what he loved most. With a genuine talent for hairstyling, he owned two hair salons throughout his career. Although medical challenges forced him to retire from hairstyling earlier than he would have liked, his passion for the craft never faded. His talent, dedication, and warm personality left a lasting impression on the countless clients and friends he met along the way.

Above all else, music was Moe's greatest passion. A gifted and deeply artistic person, he found joy and purpose through music from an early age. He loved to play the guitar and drums, and spent many years performing in bands, sharing his talent and love of music with others. He also inspired his son Zack to take up the drums, who followed his footsteps playing in the Confederation “Evolutionary’’ Band as well. Whether he was on stage, listening to his favourite songs, or picking up an instrument, music was at the heart of who he was.

Moe found peace in the outdoors, especially while fishing and camping. He had a deep love for animals, but his best buddy was his cat, Jake. The two were inseparable, and Jake's companionship brought Moe endless comfort, happiness, and unconditional love.

Moe will be remembered as a kind, caring, and genuine person whose warmth and sense of humour brought joy to everyone around him. From childhood, Moe filled his family's lives with laughter, fun, and unforgettable memories. He had a mischievous streak and was often the ringleader, encouraging his cousins to join in whatever adventures he had in mind. Those moments of laughter and harmless trouble became some of the family's most cherished memories, and he carried that same playful spirit throughout his life. Though his time with us was far too short, Moe's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be forever missed by his family and friends, who find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his precious daughter, Mia.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Moe at an upcoming date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Salvation Army Food Bank.
