Morken, Edward George

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Edward George Morken.     Ed was born August 27, 1946 to Paul and Anna Morken in Emo, Ontario. He was raised on a farm in Barwick, Ontario with his siblings, Hazel(Bob) Gratton, Irene(Lyle) Locey (predeceased) and Melvin (Eleanor) Morken (predeceased).

He met, and married the love of his life, Faye Hell. They were married in 1971, in International Falls. Mn, and moved to their farm near his parents where they lived for 40 years.  They would have 2 daughters Melissa (Bernie) and Amanda (Jim) and would welcome 5 grandchildren Brett (McKenna), Jenna (Kyle), Dylan (Mackenzie), Kierra (Mitch) and Tessa and one great- granddaughter Leah . The grandchildren were everything to him.

In their early years,  Ed and Faye could be found two stepping across the dance floor most weekends. People would stop and watch as they moved together so effortlessly.

They worked hard on their farm, making hay, growing crops, planting a huge garden, raising, and processing their own animals and canning everything.

Ed enjoyed hunting and they would host family and friends for a yearly deer hunting week. Dad would guide and harvest the deer and mom would feed the crew and help cut and wrap and can the meat.

Ed worked in the bush, as a logger, throughout his years and talked about those days right up until the day he passed. He could sling a chainsaw with the best of them.

As per his wishes,  there will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold the ones you love tightly and cherish every moment as you never know when its the last. Honor Ed by sharing memories of him.
