McLean, Gilles

Surrounded by family, Gilles passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Sudbury, ON. Dear husband to Janell, loving father to Melanie (Jesse), Vicky (Jason), Kevin (Amelie), Stephanie (Devin) and Hailie (Myles) Proud grandfather to Véronique, Amélie, Arianne, Cameron, Kaitlyn, Liam and Kinsley. Gilles was born in Englehart, ON. to Simonne and Elphege McLean on January 18, 1955. He grew up with 6 brothers, Leon, Maurice, Robert, André, Rolly, Remi, and 3 sisters, Aline, Fern and Denise. Gilles began working at a mining company at an young age, taking him all around the world. He eventually settled in Chitek Lake, SK., continuing to work around Americas. He enjoyed spending his time camping, driving his boat, watching a good movie or enjoying a visit over a cup of coffee and a pie with his mother in law Rita. He remained dedicated and passionate about his work until his final days. His family will greatly miss his poor sense of humour, smiling face, unconditional love, and gentle loving nature. His children are confident his memories and story telling skills will live on in his brothers and sisters forever. In keeping with Gilles wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no formal services.
