McCullough, Katherine (Katica)

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of our Mom and Baba, Katherine (Katica) McCullough (nee Oreskovich) on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the age of 91. Mom passed way peacefully at Pioneer Manor, her home for the last couple of years. She is now with her much missed husband, William Allan McCullough.

Mom was born in Croatia on February 3, 1933. She immigrated to Canada at 6 months old with her mother, her father awaiting their arrival. She was predeceased by her father, Josip (Joe), and her mother Rosa Oreskovich (nee Kostelac).

She will be missed by her daughter, Sharon (Larry) and their children Ryan (Emily) and Karli (Brandon), her son Chris (Shari) and their children and grand children Ian (Caitlyn) Capri and Callan, Sarah, and Aidan (Hollie) Alice and Maple, her brother John (predeceased) and sister in law Vondelle, her brother in law Vic (predeceased) and sister in law Vellete, along with other family, and friends living in Canada and Croatia.

Mom loved roaming the hallways at Pioneer Manor on a daily basis and enjoyed her visits with friends on the floor. She attended just about each and every function at the manor. While there, she developed a love for costume jewellery and colouring. Even dementia couldn't keep her from being happy…that smile will never be forgotten. Thank you to everyone at Pioneer Manor especially the nurses and PSW's. Mom loved your visits. She considered Pioneer Manor her home and was happy to be there.

Flights of angels will sing our mother to rest ... Mom will never be far, she is as close as the wind.

Neka te Gospodin čuretezeva u svom zx agrljaju, a mi te čuvamo u našim srcima. Naša ljubav prema tebi nikad ne prestaje.

(May the Lord keep you in his arms, and we keep you in our hearts. Our love for you never ends)

In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Stephens on the Hill United Church or Pioneer Manor.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
