Richard Emilien Mayer passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Health Sciences North on May 1st, 2023, at the age of 68 after a brave and valiant fight with cancer.
Richard is leaving behind his son and best friend, Serge, and his loving granddaughter Emilie-Grace, for whom he was a proud pepere. Also survived by his ex-wife and good friend Susan Ongaro.
Richard was the beloved son of Gerald and Rollande (Marcotte) Mayer and stepfather Edgar Delair, all predeceased). He is survived by his sisters, Claire Bouillon (Sonny, predeceased), Pierrette Ouellet (Rock predeceased), Nicole Tessier (Robert), Monique Gervais (Lucien) and numerous nephews and nieces.
Richard loved music. He was a DJ and danced many nights at Grumblers. He will be remembered for his good nature, humour, easy going temperament, but most of all his love of playing practical jokes on everyone.
As per Richards request there will be no visitation at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
