It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Gérald Mathieu on March 14, 2022, at the age of 66 surrounded by loving family.
Predeceased by his father Raoul Mathieu and mother Florence Mathieu (née Séguin). Dear brother of Lorraine (predeceased), Roland (Paulette), Jean-Guy (Lucy) and Denis (Deborah). Beloved husband of Mona Mathieu (née Leblanc). Devoted father of Kim (Will predeceased), Rob (Tammy), Craig Tricco (Natalie), Angie Bene (Shane) and Stephanie Tricco. Loving grandfather of Connor, Emilie, Ethan, Emma, Joshua, Lucas, Ella and Ava.
His greatest joy in life was his family. His pride of his children and grandchildren was apparent to everyone he talked to. As per his wishes, there will be no Funeral Service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at the Northbury Hotel and Conference Center, 50 Brady Street, Sudbury on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 1pm. Donations in Gérald’s memory can be made directly to Maison McCulloch Hospice https://maisonsudburyhospice.org/. Arrangements have been entrusted with Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Mononc Gerry, you were a wonderful, wonderful man. I have so many treasured memories that you are a part of, that I will always hold onto. You will be so missed.
I’m sorry that I wasn’t made aware of the service in time to attend. Know that I would have been there if I could, to celebrate you and hold close the ones you left behind.
I hope there is comfort in reuniting with your parents and sister, among other angels. Rest peacefully, always know you are remembered and loved.

He will be missed by so many!!! Our lives are richer for having spent such time with good friends and making so many special memories. I always told Gerry and Mona, coming to Trout Lake was always like coming home. All our troubles would disappear! You are amazing friends. Condolences to all the family.
