Marlene “Marbell” Levesque (nee Castonguay) 60 years old

December 28th, 1962 - December 4th, 2023

The family announces with deep sadness the peaceful passing of Marlene Levesque, after a long   hospital battle fighting heart and kidney disease.  Marlene passed away peacefully with her loving husband (Brian Levesque) and daughter (Bryann Levesque) by her side at Maison McCulloch Hospice, shortly after 2AM, on Monday, December 4th, 2023.

Marlene is survived by her husband Brian, son Darcy, daughter Bryann (Robyn Wheeler) and grandson Bowen Wheeler.  She was the second youngest child of seven children to Lucille and James Castonguay, both predeceased. Marlene will be dearly missed by her siblings, Debbie Villeneueve (Roger), Danny Castonguay (Kathy), Bobby Castonguay (Mindy Dempsey), Kenny Castonguay, Rosanne Wilcox (Reg), Jimmy Castonguay (Heather) and by her extended family, Kim Fleming (Ron), Shelley Tataryn (John) and Tony Turbitt (Sandra Parker).  She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Marlene lived for spending time with her family and friends, whether it was around the campfire at camp on Manitoulin Island, at the table laughing and playing cards and games or at the bowling alley while working or league bowling.  Marlene’s main driving force in her long fight with heart and kidney disease was to be able to spend more time with her cherished grandson Bowen.

Marlene met the love of her life, husband Brian, at Garson Falconbridge Secondary School when she was just 18 years old.  They started dating in January 1980, shortly after meeting. Marlene and Brian spent most of their free time together and Marlene could always be found on the sidelines of Brian’s many sports games. They welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Darcy on July 20, 1989. They were married and became husband and wife on June 30, 1990, with Darcy as the ring bearer at their wedding. Their immediate family was completed on February 12, 1993, when their daughter Bryann was born.

The Family would like to sincerely thank the medical teams at Sudbury’s Health Sciences North and University Hospital - London Health Sciences Center.  Most of all, they would like to thank the Maison McCulloch Hospice team, for the love and care they provided Marlene during her final days.

A “Celebration of Life” is set for Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Marlene’s newly renovated home (she would have liked this idea), 58 Garson Coniston Road, Garson, Ontario.  Because we are doing this in our home, we ask that friends of the family attend from 1PM and 4PM and family attend from 4PM to 7PM, this will hopefully allow us to accommodate all that want to attend and pay their respects, reminisce, etc. for Marlene.  Food and beverages will be available.

The family would appreciate any donations in Marlene’s name to be made directly to Maison McCulloch Hospice (In Memory of Marlene Levesque - maisonsudburyhospice.org/donate/).
