Macdonald, Andrew

In loving memory of Andrew Macdonald who passed away after a short battle with cancer on May 8, 2023 at the age of 62. Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Lorna Macdonald (Tucker). An amazing father to Tyler (Britanny), Shannon (favourite child), Dontae, Sarina and Ransom and the best Papa to Isabella, Allayah, and Colt. Korbin, Seth and Storm also held a special place in Andrew's heart.

Beloved son of the late John and Clare Macdonald (O’Brien). Brother to Mary K and Kelly Anne Macdonald (predeceased), favorite uncle to Anna (Chris), Jamie, Hannah, Amanda (Kevin), Claudia, Shawn, and Ashley (Sean), and brother-in-law to Brenda (Danny), and Andrew (Phyllis).

Andrew grew up in Falconbridge and continued to live there for a majority of his life. His passion for hockey began at a very young age as a player, and from there grew into the legacy he leaves with us today. He could often be found at the rink with his bluetooth earpiece, sharing his passion and lectures with those around him. He was an active volunteer for 44 years throughout his various roles in minor hockey. Andrew's active community involvement didn’t stop with hockey, he was also a dedicated foster parent for 23 years, playing a special role in the lives of many kids.

Andrew leaves behind a legacy in many communities, but his involvement always came back to bettering the lives and experiences of the kids. Andrew embodied and displayed unconditional love to all of those around him, with just a little bit of sarcasm thrown into everything he did. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 28th from 1-4 PM at the Falconbridge Legion (66 Edison Rd, Falconbridge). Donations to the Andrew Macdonald Keep Kids Playing Hockey Fund will be accepted at the Celebration of Life and more information surrounding the fund will be released soon by the family.
