April 10, 1977 – September 21, 2021
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the tragic passing of Laura Lunn Poitras on September 21, 2021, in her residence at the age of 44. Laura was the cherished daughter of Brian Lunn (predeceased) and Karen (Hawes) Lunn. She will be forever missed by her only son Nicholas Lunn (Buck), fiancée Crystal Chopp. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren: Isabella (Bella), Makaila, Jacob and Kaiden. Beloved sister of Brigitte (predeceased) (James) Voigtlander, Marc Mailloux and Christa (Brian) Scheuer. Laura will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Nick was Laura’s proudest accomplishment. She was so filled with pride when she would talk about him, and she did to anyone that would listen. She felt triumphant knowing she had a hand in shaping him into the man he has become today. Laura was very close with Nick; they were each other's best friend and confidant. Laura’s most cherished name to be called was Grandma. Being a grandparent was life’s ultimate reward. Her heart overflowed with love for Nick and Bella, they were her everything, her reason to keep trying, the reward that made it all worth it. They were her heartbeat. Laura was the kind of person that would give without limits. She would give everything she had if that is what you needed. Laura carried with her a fierce enthusiasm for life. She was feisty and quick witted; she was a force to be reckoned with. She was a kick ass and take names kind of girl. Laura’s angel wings were ready, and her time here was cut short. Our hearts are broken but for those that knew her, she would not have seen this as the end but rather the beginning of a new grand adventure. A casual outdoor celebration of life will be held for Laura on October 23, 2021, at a family residence at 141 Hillcrest Dr. Lively, ON from 1pm to 4pm.
John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.
Although your body has departed from this world, your spirit lives forever.
Praying for peace during your time of grief.

Karen, I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember babysitting Laura when she was little and she was always a happy girl. I know parents aren’t supposed to bury their children before them but the Lord only takes the best. Rest easy Laura you have gained your wings, fly high.
