It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcel Lefebvre in his 72nd year on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Marcel is survived by his beloved wife Carol (née Ranger) his son Darren (Robyn Loudon), his daughter Melissa Vitali (Chris); his grandchildren Damien and Zoey and his grand-dogger Royal. Marcel was born in Sudbury in 1951 to Ludger and Margaret (née Kingsbury) Lefebvre (both predeceased).
He will be missed by his brothers- in law and sisters-in-law Robert and Debbie, Marc and Brenda, Kevin and Wendy, Darrel, David and Bonny, predeceased by Jocelyn Toth (née Ranger) and many nieces and nephews.
Marcel started his careerat Falconbridge (Glencore) in 1973 and worked underground, ending as a cage tender in 2003.
He married the love of his life Carol and spent 46 years making each other blissfully happy. They moved out to their forever home on Lake Wahnapitae where they both could indulge in their passion for fishing in summer and winter.
Marcel’s children and grandchildren were his second love and Zoey and Damien will miss his imitation of Donald Duck’s voice and playing his harmonica for them. We will all miss his teasing ways, things like tying your socks together and watching you try to walk or being wakened from a deep sleep and either tickled to death or him slapping your feet so you couldn’t stand. These things were priceless and will never be matched by another.
Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Donations in Marcel’s memory can be made directly to the Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre https://www.turtlepondwc.com/
