It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family announces the unexpected passing of Wayne Lausch on May 9th, 2026, at the age of 65.
Wayne was born in Sudbury Ontario on October 10th, 1960 to his parents Richard and Joyce Lausch (predeceased). Wayne was married to his wife Colette (predeceased), father to Travis (his guitar collection) & Katrina (Keith) Leduc, and grandfather to Machs and Ruby Leduc. He was a dear brother of Ken, Keith (Monika, both predeceased), Scott, and brother in all but blood to many members of the Walli clan including Mark, Matthew, Tom, Adam, Kevin, and David.
Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed many activities like camping, hunting and fishing, riding ATVs, snowmobiles, and boats and the like. When he wasn’t outdoors, he would spend his time doing his other favourite past time; working on cars or modifying them, or just watching them race in circles every Sunday with NASCAR. He also had a passion for music, and although he never learned to play a musical instrument, he was quite skilled at operating a stereo, and making sure everyone in earshot could rock out along with him to his favourite classic rock bands (sometimes at tinnitus-inducing volumes). He'd always be the life of the party, with his incredible sense of humour (especially at the times it crossed a line!) even if that party was just one of his kids hanging out at his house for the weekend.
Wayne worked for Day Construction as a heavy equipment mechanic for 25 years, until his retirement at the end of 2025. He also spent 20 years as a volunteer with the Station 14 fire department in Levack that instilled in him a strong sense of honour and service. There was no situation too sticky for Wayne to help others find a way out of, and he has been a strong pillar of support to so many of the people he knew, and his kind heart and generous spirit never went unnoticed.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made directly to Wayne’s beloved Volunteer Fire Department, Station 14 in Levack, Ontario. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life to be determined at a later date.

So sad to hear of Wayne’s sudden passing. I’m truly thankful for his last visit a few weeks prior.
A great friend since Larchwood Public School. When in Wayne’s company, one always knew it was going to be a laugh riot, a joke for every occasion. Sincere condolences to Wayne’s family and friends.
Rest easy old friend, it’s been a hard go.

We are so saddened by this. Wayne was one in a million. A cousin who always stayed in touch. One of the hardest working people I’ve known. No matter what adversity he was confronted with in his life, he would smile and find a way to deal with it. We had just talked together about his retirement and how anxious he was to get out bass fishing in that new jet boat, taking his grandkids out with him. We really appreciated his sense of humour, it matched mine. I will always remember the visits we had growing up and especially the trips up Onaping to Uncle Richard’s camp.
We know all too well how difficult it is to be shocked with an unforeseen tragic loss. Travis, Katrina, Ken and Scott, our hearts are with you. We sure will miss him.

Wayne was a man with compassion, foresight and treated everyone with respect.
He has a deep love for his family and his dog. Wayne was also very skilled tradesman that taught many some tricks to improve their jobs.
As a firefighter he mentored all in his station how to become better and excel at their job while continuing with respect to all.
I miss him as he is reunited with Colette , he is with us through his children and grandchildren.
Rest easy brother and god bless my friend.
