Laundry, Lourdis – (June 2, 1959 – May 31, 2020)

Passed away suddenly at Health Sciences North, on May 31st, 2020. She leaves behind her loving daughter Tricia (James) and son William (Sara). Beloved daughter of Isaiah (predeceased) and Patricia Laundry (nee Lariviere).  Cherished sister of Jim, Chris (Laurie) and Dominique.  She will be greatly missed by her granddaughters Vesper and Rhyah, as well as many nieces, nephews and by her many close friends and especially her fur babies. Lourdis started her career working for Bell Canada. She then moved to the Soo where she worked at the Algoma Housing Authority for many years before starting a new position for the City of Sault Ste Marie in the purchasing department. She made many lasting friendships throughout her career and life. Donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Due to the recent world circumstances of Covid 19 we will be holding a celebration of life at a later date.

  1. It was just last week that I learned that Lourdis passed away in May. I had the pleasure of talking to her a few times a year in her role as purchaser for the city of SSM and enjoyed our conversations. She had dealt with my father in the past, prior to his death years ago, and would always tell me stories about dealing with him. While I was taking over the business after my father’s passing she went above and beyond to help me try to figure out how to continue working with the city. She will be missed!

  3. Dear Tricia, Billy, Chris and families,
I am so sad to hear about the passing of your mom and sister. As you know, we had worked together at Algoma/Sault Housing Corp. for years. We had a lot of fun and always shared stories about our families. Although she moved on to City Hall a few years ago, often kept in touch personally or through mutual friends to catch up on how the other was doing. I know she loved all of you very much. She was always looking out for others. She will be missed. Please accept my prayers and condolences during this difficult time. Keep her close to your hearts and cherish the wonderful memories.
