LAMOTHE, BERNARD I.

(January 01, 1949 - August 12, 2022)

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bernard Lamothe announces his passing, on Friday, August 12, 2022, in the comfort of his home, at the age of 73. Born in Sudbury to the late Leo and the late Simone (nee Parent). Beloved husband of Rebecca (nee Piche). Loving father of Helene and Carmel (Stephane). Cherished grandfather of Chanel and Hannah. Survived by his siblings Estelle and Pauline and predeceased by his sister Nicole, and his brothers Jean-Claude and Andre. Special friend of Geoff Binkley and Peter Russell. Bernie worked for A&P/Metro for 43 years, and always took great pride in his work. He was extremely dedicated, and a great mentor to many throughout his career. In his younger years, Bernie was an active member of hockey and blooper ball leagues. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. The family’s love of nature and the great outdoors was reinforced by summers of camping and storytelling by the fire. Ben, as he was lovingly referred to by family and friends, was the strong silent type. Ben and Becky enjoyed 53 devoted years of marriage, and over-wintered in Florida for many years during their retirement. He was well liked by all who knew him. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernard’s memory can be made directly to the Kidney Foundation at https://kidney.ca.
