With profound sadness, the family announces the passing of Barbara Kingston-Calback on September 17, 2026, at the age of 79. Barbara was the beloved wife and soulmate of Mervin Calback.
Barbara married her true love, Mervin, on August 27, 2016, after sharing a remarkable love story spanning 43 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, companionship, and cherished memories.
Barbara found great joy in tending to her beautiful gardens, where her passion for flowers and nature was evident to all who visited. She was a devoted cat mom to her beloved Oscar and loved spending time with Merv on long drives in her cherished Mustang, Christine.
Barbara graduated from Nursing in 1967 and dedicated much of her professional life to caring for others. She concluded her career as an Office manager at a veterinary clinic, where she worked for more than 25 years, earning the respect and friendship of colleagues and clients alike.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her children, Robert (Mayumi) and Katherine, and by her stepdaughter, Angie Blanchard (née Gauthier) (Steve). She was a proud grandmother to Jessica, Kallie (Sebastien), Halie (James), Rebecca, Alexandre, Hayden, and Hudson, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her siblings, Ronald (Laurel), Patricia (Ronald), and Nancy, as well as many extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and warmth.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Maxwell and Nina Ireland (née Blake), and by her brothers, Robert and Lee Ireland.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff, caregivers, and friends who provided support, comfort, and compassion during Barbara's final days.
In keeping with Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or formal funeral service.
