Kindrat-Leach, Angela

Our dear mother, Angela Kindrat-Leach (Fowler) sadly passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the age of 84.

Born on January 22, 1940 to parents Nicholas and Sarah (Walker) Fowler (predeceased), in Bishop Falls Nfld. She will be missed dearly by her husband Brian Leach of 35 years.

Angela was a proud mother of 8 children with her husband David Kindrat (1985) to Barry (Gloria), Carolyn (Bradley), Laura, Brenda (Mike), Dale (Jill), Dave (Alyssa), Karen (Derrick), and Kerrie. Also survived by stepsons John and Andrew Leach.

She will also be missed by her grandchildren; Ashley, April, Alyssa, Jaryd (2023), Alyxzander, Samantha, Rebecca, Spencer, Charles, Grace, Denver, Kenedi, Samuel and step grandmother to Kim, Brittany, Derek (2023), William and Elizabeth.  Her legacy included great grandchildren Oliver, Emersyn, Paisley, Autumn, Willow, Rory and Iggy.

Survived by brothers James (Rita) Fowler, and Gerald (Wendy) Fowler and by sisters Dolores (Lucien) Daoust and Sharon (Roy) Miller.  Predeceased by sisters Laura, Carmel, Sheila, Barbara and brothers Raymond, Kevin Fowler, and grandson Jaryd Vaccari.

Angela was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was deeply loved by those whose lives she touched. She loved sharing stories of her children and antics with her siblings over a cup of tea. Nothing made her happier than family gatherings with plenty of food, stories and laughter.  It was understood that all gatherings would turn into a late night of cards often ending at sunrise. She was known for her butter tarts - her crust and filling were the best.  If you were lucky enough to eat one, you would understand why.

Her family travelled from Newfoundland as immigrants to Canada (pre-Confederation) to Wawa where her father worked as a station master for the railway.

Angela met her first husband Dave in Wawa, where she was working as a teacher. They married and moved to Sudbury where they had 8 children. While raising the family, she worked at several family businesses. She loved to play bingo, go to the casino and travel. A most cherished trip was the one she made to England & Ireland with her mother and all of her sisters. She also traveled with her adult children and grandchildren on annual trips down south.

Angela remarried Brian Leach in 1988 and enjoyed seeing her family grow up and expand. The grandchildren loved baking with her during their visits and this continued into well into adulthood.

We are proud to call her Mom, Grandma, Wife, Sister and Friend. She was loved and lived a full life.  She will be missed by so many.

Mothers hold their children’s hands for a while, but their hearts forever.

The family would like to thank Dr. Patire, City of Lakes Health Team, and all the staff at HSN for all their care over the last several months.  Your care and compassion have been appreciated.  A special thanks to Crystal Bram for taking such good care of our mother.

A Celebration of Angela’s Life is planned on Saturday, May 11th, at Club 50, 25 Main Street, W., Chelmsford from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
