Kennis, Edna

In loving memory of Edna Kennis, who passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, ON, at the age of 64.

Born in Sault Ste. Marie to Edward and Anne Kennis (née Timmerman) of the Netherlands, both predeceased. Cherished wife of Daniel Nadon. Loving mother of Erin (Kyle) and Devin. Proud Oma of Maple. Dear sister of Ed (Lorri), the late Eric (Nanci), and Ron (Charlotte). She will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends.

From a young age she showed great determination and worked hard to achieve her goals. She moved to Sudbury to attend Laurentian University, graduating with a degree in Social Work. She enjoyed her work helping others with physical challenges at Community Living Sudbury. Edna chose to leave her career to focus on raising a family. She was a caring, dedicated mother who always made time to offer words of support and encouragement. She was also known for her green thumb and could often be found sitting on the bench in her garden with a good cup of coffee and a smile.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 12 pm to 3 pm. A Celebration will be held in Sudbury at a later date.
