It is with great sadness that the family of Julie Keetch announce her passing on Tuesday, August, 25, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born Julia Mae Tkachuk, Julie was the beloved daughter of Shirley and Michael Tkachuk, both predeceased.
Julie was the cherished mother of Krista (Rory), Vanessa (Michael), and Matthew (Jolie). She was immensely proud of them and the lives they've built. She was the loving partner of Ian Long, with whom she shared many happy times, including golfing, travelling, and gardening. Her grandchildren Paityn, Liam, Lily, Evander, and baby boy on the way, were her greatest joy. Julie treasured every moment with them and took great happiness in creating memories with her family.
Julie had a natural warmth. She was a friend to many and will be greatly missed by old and new. She spent many years working in retail selling furniture, where her easy way with people and unmistakable "gift of gab" made her unforgettable. She loved sharing stories about her life, children and people she loved while learning about those around her.
Our mom loved shopping, food, and enjoying a good glass of wine. She found joy in gardening and took pride in caring for her grass, along with making her house a home. She especially loved spending evenings outside in her backyard with Ian by the fire, listening to music while admiring her yard. Her memory will live on with the many traditions she created and shared such as homemade spaghetti sauce, the best turkey dinners, annual Christmas ornaments, and lasagna making.
Over the last year and half, Julie courageously battled breast cancer while continuing to make the most of her time. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and humour.
Our family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ubriaco, Dr. Ali, Dr. Singh, Dr. Lam, Dr. Jackson, the staff at HSN 4 North; all the staff at Hospice, with special thanks to Nurse Ang, for their care and immense compassion. It takes very special people to work in both Oncology and Hospice care, and we are forever grateful.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Julie's name to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
Dear Julie, I will miss your voice and the laughs we shared. Dear Ian, you were so sweet and wonderful to Julie and your dedication and support for her was unsurpassed. Dear children, Vanessa, Krista and Matthew, I have no words to describe how much Julie loved you and your beautiful children. Please accept me and Bob’s condolences and love and respect. We loved Julie and always will keep her in our hearts.

Krista, Vanessa, Matthew and families, my sincere condolences for the loss of your mom, and to Ian who was also by Julie’s side throughout her battle with cancer. Julie as one of my very best friends and I am so thankful for the time we spent together especially during the last 1.5 years. Julie never lost her zest for life and lived each day to the fullest. I admire her positive attitude while fighting cancer. I miss her now and will miss her friendship until we meet again ❤️ Rest in peace Julie

Krista, Vanessa and Matthew, I am so sorry for loss. I loved your mom dearly…..the last conversation I had with her was at the golf course. When we spoke, she was always finding the positive in life and sooo proud of you all. I loved hearing about the 3 of you and her grandchildren and reminiscing about good old “gymnastics days” and trips. I will miss her…..Thinking of you all.
