It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Hyatt, on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the age of 85.
Born in Cochrane, ON to Peter and Dorothy Hyatt (predeceased). Jim is survived by his loving wife Ann and their 3 children Kim (Bernie), Kevin (Debbie) and Darren. Cherished grandfather of 5 grandchildren: Jordan, Ryan, Brooke, Kelsey, and (Kayla predeceased) and 3 great grandchildren Kaylee, Ariel and Devin. Also missing him are, his special niece Debbie who loved him like a father, his sisters-in-law Lynn, Bonnie and Judie, many nieces and nephews, his dear friend Larry and a multitude of friends both in Canada and the U.S.A. will surely feel his loss. Predeceased by his sister Claudia, brother Steve, sister-in-law Lauriette, brothers-in-law Paul, Louis, Richard, Ernie and daughter-in-law LeeAnne.
Raised in Lowbush, his commercial fisherman father taught him the value of hard work which he instilled in his family. Meeting the love of his life Ann at 18 years old was the beginning of a fairy tale romance most don't get to experience. Married for 65 years to his best friend and soulmate they had a beautiful life together. Their 3 children were blessed with a father that faced problems with a calm and gentle manner. "Why get excited" was his question when someone was upset. A wonderful father and husband, his family always came first. His knowledge of everything was enviable "Poppa can fix anything" was his mantra and 100% true, he could and did fix everything. A miner from the age of 18, he retired as a shift boss from Falconbridge at the age of 55. The next 30 years were enjoyed playing euchre and poker many times a week. Summers were spent at the camp in Bisco out on the lake fishing, swimming and hunting in the fall. An avid hunter and fisherman outdoors was where he felt at home. Bradenton, Florida was his home in the winter, making friends and enjoying the weather. Forever in our hearts your love and legacy will always "Carry On"
Heartfelt thank you to the Dialysis Team at HSN, Dr. Nistico, Dr. Crichton, the ARCC Unit and Maison McCulloch Staff. You took such great care of Jim, we are forever grateful for your compassion.
Sorry for your loss..thinking about all of you!
