Forget, Denis

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness to announce the passing of Denis Forget at the age of 65 on May 26, 2024. He was born October 30, 1958 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. Denis was raised and taken care of by his loving foster/adoptive parents Eudore “Pete” and Marie “Jeanette” Cloutier (both predeceased) in Sudbury, Ontario. Survived by his brother and caregiver, Gerry Cloutier (Sinikka), whom will miss him immensely. Denis was the light and joy at family functions and will be missed by many nieces, nephews and other relatives as well.

Although Denis faced some challenges in life having some disabilities, he always had a great attitude and positive energy. He knew a lot of people and everyone that met him couldn’t help but love him. He was a kind-hearted friendly man with a heart of purity and always willing to give anyone a helping hand. He definitely had a way of putting a smile on your face, no matter what kind of day you were having.  Denis loved his family dogs, however he had an especially strong unique bond with Nezzie, whose name he would constantly call out for all to hear, always asking how she was doing, when not with her. He had an infectious joyful personality like no other. He always enjoyed going to the movie theatre and after the movie was over, he would erupt into a thunderous applause, causing everyone else to join in. He was an avid hockey fan, and even though he would cheer for any team who scored, he was a huge fan of both the Sudbury Wolves and Montreal Canadiens. He just loved attending the Wolves games with his father and brother to cheer on our hometown team. He also loved to join his parents and later his brother to their bowling games. Cheering them on from the sidelines. No one was a better cheerleader. He had a love for music and movies but his favourites were definitely Elvis and the Hulk. Getting excited any time he would see them, whether it be on TV or on his new shirts to proudly show off.

He left his family with so many cherished memories and they are blessed to have had him in their lives. Although he had some suffering times in the end, Denis was strong like the Hulk and never once gave up.

We would like to thank everyone at Pioneer Manor for helping take care of him in his time of need. You are all truly exceptional people. There will be no services for Denis. A Celebration of Denis’ Life will take place with family at a later time.

Sometimes you are born into a family and sometimes it finds you. We are so happy that we were blessed to have Denis find us and be our family. Forever in our hearts.
