Edwards, Desmond (Dez) – August 10, 1971 – April 3, 2022

It is with great sadness we share the sudden news of Dez passing at the age of 50. Dez was born in Sudbury, ON and grew up in Chapleau, ON. He worked in the mills in Chapleau for many years and was a lead singer in a band called Traffik. In 2003 he moved to Sudbury, ON and got married and worked in various jobs until he found his calling at FCR (Freelandt Caldwell Reilly LLP) where he loved what he did and took a lot of pride in his work. He was a very caring man who loved his family dearly. He had a great sense of humor, and you could always go to him for advice on anything. He will be missed by the many people who knew him, but especially the ones who loved him.  Dez is survived by his wife Christina, his family Jess (Jordan), Ricky (Katrina) his granddaughter Brooklyn, his mom Leona Larocque, his Dad Gordon Edwards (predeceased), many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Thank you to his good friend John who was always there to help him and the partners and staff at FCR who were always so thoughtful towards him.   There will not be a funeral as per Dez's request.

  3. Working with Dez for the past eight years, you quickly realize he was a positive force at FCR. With a big smile and quick to laugh, Dez certainly left his mark on us. While our time together somehow feels too brief, I will cherish those little moments that define a friendship. My condolences to his family and friends, and know that his presence will be felt for a long time to come.

  8. I keep thinking of your last Facebook banter with me when I said nobody cares about whatever it was and you responded with nobody cares about your Wordle score either. I really enjoyed your music and I’ve never forgotten from when we were kids and playing Forest Rangers on that little hill on Ash Street. To all your family and friends, on behalf of my family, our sincerest condolences. Xox Dez

  9. I am truly heartbroken by the loss of Dez and will never forget the laughs we had at work together. Desmond was assigned to assist me when I first started at FCR 7 years again, and we were great work pals ever since. Some of the best discussion with Dez were the ones around politics, even though we were on two completely different teams.
You will be greatly missed Dez. Hopefully you are entertaining everyone wherever you may be!
