Desjardins, Janine

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Janine Claire Marie Desjardins (nee Trottier) announce her passing on April 22nd, 2026 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury at the age of 84.

Daughter of Napoleon and Maria Trottier of Dupuy, Quebec (both predeceased) and loving and faithful wife to Yvon Hector Desjardins (predeceased) for 33 years.  Mother to Line Vidal (Micheal) of Val Caron, Donald Desjardins of Smooth Rock Falls, Ronald Desjardins (Barbara) of Sudbury, and Julie DiNardo (Pino) of Hamilton.

One of the greatest blessings in Janine’s life was the gift of family.

Sister to Claude (predeceased), Benoit (predeceased), Isabelle (predeceased), Norman (predeceased), Simone, Richard (predeceased), Suzanne, and Guy.

Caring and loving Grandmother to Danielle, Eric, Stephanie, Victoria, Jacqueline, Andrea, Allison, Gabriel, Lianne, Jacob, and Antonio.

Cherished Great-Grandmother to Ezra, Alexis, Sofia, Olivia, Russell, Elias, Cassian, Kamila, Emilia, Cash, Maizie, Malcolm, Banks, Felix, and soon to be baby boy.

She will be missed by all her family including nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Janine was a loyal volunteer for many years working for many various charities.  She was a school bus driver for 25 years where she made life-long friends.

Janine and Yvon moved to Garson in 1980, after living in Abitibi Canyon for 11 years. Before this, there was Iroquois Falls, Moosonee, and Cochrane, where she met Yvon.

Janine donated blood 125 times, which she was extremely proud of. Her goal was to give back Yvon’s 75 litres of blood transfusions he received while he was sick and she just kept going.

After several years of failing health, we would like to thank the many doctors and nurses involved in her care at Health Sciences North, especially the Dialysis nurses. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. Cremation was entrusted with Rangers Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. A burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Garson. There, after being apart for 30 years, she will be reunited with her dear Yvon on the eve of their wedding day.

  4. The world has lost a beautiful soul. Heaven has gained one.
To Janine’s children, who we grew up with in The Canyon (Line, Donald, Ronald & Jule), know that our hearts reach out to you during this time. Our friendships during our childhood years felt more like family relationships. There are no words to lessen the loss of your dear Mom, but our loving thoughts are with you, and your extended families, as you grieve and celebrate your Mom’s remarkable life. Our love to you all. 🌹 🌹 ❤️ 🌹 🌹
