It is with sadness that we are announcing the passing of Alcide Claude Deschênes on September 8, 2023. Son of Alphonse and Marie Laure. Brother to Guy, Jean-Paul, Jacqueline, Carmen, Jeannine, Lucille, Aimé, Michel and Germain.
Alcide was born in Hanmer. He was a very honest, kind, caring and humble man with a great sense of humour. He loved reading, the outdoors, going fishing and hunting. Above all, he enjoyed spending time in his garden and sharing his harvest with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly in Alcide's memory to the Salvation Army https://www.sudburycedarplace.ca/. As per Alcide's wishes, there will be no service. The burial will be held at St Jacques Cemetery on October 13th, 2023 at 11:00 am.
My thoughts and prayers are extended to the entire Deschenes family, particularly Alcide’s siblings: Sister Lucille, Aunt Jeannine, and Uncle Amy.

Alcide was an important member of our family; he was very close to my husband Germain.
When Angele, my daughter, and I visited him last summer, he gave us a tour of his garden and shared some of his veggies with us. He will be missed.
