Crowder, Brian (Woody)

January 23, 1946 – December 27, 2023

In loving memory of Brian (Woody) Crowder who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the age of 77. Loving husband of 56 years to Mary Crowder. Loving father of Todd (Colleen) and Troy. Proud Grandfather (Papa) to Jade, Grace, Woodrow, Bray, Max, and Cole. Brian was the youngest of three sons to the late Vera and Nelson Crowder. A brother to Denis (Litza) and Chris (Pauline). His nieces and nephews all have fond memories of times at Fairbank Lake. Brian’s two loves besides his family were hockey and golf which he excelled at both. His hockey career started in Nashville, Tennessee and then he went on to work at INCO for 30 years at a job he loved. Brian will be deeply missed by his hockey, golf, and work family and friends. His quiet demeanor and conversations were enjoyed by so many but don’t let the quiet demeanor fool you. He was always ready to protect his family and friends. Brian fought Alzheimer’s disease for 10 years, we will miss him, but he is now happy and in a better place. The family would like to thank the PSW’s at Extendicare Falconbridge for their exceptional care of Brian, as well as our network of friends for their continuous support. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lively Golf Club (305-A 6th Ave, Lively, ON) on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Words of remembrance will take place from 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s memory can be made directly to the Alzheimer’s Society. Let us celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the love and stories he shared with us all, “AT THE END OF THE DAY”.

  2. Brian Crowder is one of the nicest gentleman I’ve ever met in my life, even though a lot of guys he played hockey against won’t agree with me. I was lucky enough to spend many hours with him on the golf course, and having a few jugs afterwards. He had such a warm and friendly demeanor.
I am also lucky enough to be friends with his beautiful wife Mary and 2 wonderful sons.
    Sure gonna miss you Woody…RIP..

  3. Mary and family:
Very much shocking news Mary. He was always such a loveable, determined, competitive fellow. I am sorry we lost touch over the years. That is my loss. I do have wonderful memories though of our youth and growing up in Lively.
That will always remain with me.
