Clark, Bernice

In loving memory of Bernice Clark, who passed away Sunday, June 21st, 2026. Bernice was born in 1927 to Veronica and Frank Kowal, both predeceased. Beloved wife of Shephard “Tex” Clark, who passed away in July 2006.

Loving mother of Christine Kidd (Bruce), Julie Hozian (Joseph), David, and Catherine. Cherished grandmother of Michael, Kelly, Krista, and Trisha, with seven great-grandchildren and one more on the way.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Gladys Salidas (John predeceased), as well as her brother, Peter Winicki (also predeceased), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernice lived in downtown Sudbury for most of her life, with a short period in Hamilton, Ontario. Bernice raised her four children in the house she lived in for almost 70 years. Early in her marriage, Bernice worked for Comries and Ligettes Pharmacies and even considered going back to school to become a pharmacist. After raising her children, she returned to work, mostly in the City Centre and finally at Drug City in the pharmacy.

Bernice was active most of her adult life with St. Andrew’s United Church on various committees. She especially enjoyed the fellowship committee.

In May 2012, Bernice received a volunteer service award from the Government on Ontario, for 40 years of volunteer work at Health Sciences North (the Memorial Hospital Gift Shop).

The family wishes to thank Dr. Roch and all the fifth floor staff of Extendicare York.

A celebration of Bernice’s life will be held at a later date.
