It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Maurice Charette of Sudbury, on June 22nd, 2023 at the age of 86. Beloved husband to Sandra (Mason) Charette for 64 years, and father to Daniel of Toronto. Son of the late Arthur and Jeanne (Robert) Charette. Loving brother to Monique (Jim) Logan, Robert Charette, Gilbert (Lucy) Charette, Carmen Trahan, and Richard Charette. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Maurice worked for many years in payroll at the Sudbury French Catholic School Board. He loved family reunions and the food that came with them. He loved music and led his family in traditional ‘chansons à répondre’ at Christmas time gatherings. He knew all the extended family and shared family memories and stories with his nieces and nephews. He is remembered for his welcoming smile, his hearty laugh, and good nature.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 7th ,2023 at l’Église Ste-Anne-des-Pins in Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury https://alzheimer.ca/sudburymanitoulin/en or Maison McCulloch Hospice https://maisonsudburyhospice.org/.

My sincere sympathies for the loss of Mau.
Although I have not seen you for ages, I remember the times Carmen and I had with Maurice teaching us to dance and have fun at the camp or on Ash street. He was a gentle soul, full of energy and I am still happy to have been part of the family, thanks to you growing up has always been a good memory.
