If you knew Marc Carr, you would know that he would not want a traditional obituary. He worked hard, played hard, and loved fiercely.
On July 3rd, 2026, Marc David Joseph Carr passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Marc leaves behind the love of his life and best friend, Tracey and his son Antonio. Marc and Tracey met in the 80’s, they fell in love in the 90’s and married on July 7, 2001. They found each other for a reason, in a time when both struggled to find where they truly belonged within their own families. Together, they created the family they had always longed for, building a life centred around Antonio, who was one of Marc’s greatest sources of pride.
For the last 32 years, they were inseparable and were partners in every sense of the word, running Provincial Doors Inc. side by side and proving that somehow you actually can live and work with your spouse without driving each other crazy (well, sort of). They planned on forever with each other, but cancer had other plans. On July 7th, they would have been married 25 years, and Marc fought with every bit of his strength to see that day.
Marc was old-school and had a heart of gold. He believed in family, loyalty, working hard and helping people. He was remarkably generous with his time and resources, and if you were lucky enough to be one of “his people”, you knew it. Marc also loved adventure and often you could find him riding his Harley, fishing and boating, and riding the trails on his side-by-side and snowmobile.
Marc left behind – his love of his life his wife Tracey Carr, a son that he was so proud and loved Antonio Ieropoli (Tony) and his wife Kym, loved brother-in-law Tony Nash like a brother (the late Diane Nash). Dear son of the late Walter and Gertude Carr. Beloved stepson of late Rite (Lafreniere) Carr. Brother Ray Carr, wife Lorry, the late Diane (Carr) Bradley, late husband Gerry. Brother Wayne Carr wife Debera Carr, the late Michael Carr wife Terry Carr. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he loved deeply.
Please join us as we celebrate the life of Marc on August 21,2026, from 12pm-6pm at Le Rendez-vous de Vallée Est. 26 Coté Blvd. Hanmer, ON. As we gather to honour his memory, share stories, and remember the love he brought to all who knew him.
If you want to honour Marc, fire up the Harley, take out the boat, hit the trails, work hard, laugh often, and love your people fiercely. That is the life that Marc lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made directly to Maison McCulloh Hospice https://maisonsudburyhospice.org/donate in appreciation of the compassionate care Marc received.
