Boxwell, Marielle Theresa

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Marielle Theresa (Mou) Boxwell (née Laroque) on Friday, July 1, 2022, at the age of 74 years in Sudbury.

Beloved wife of 55 years to Gilbert Boxwell of Markstay, ON. Loving daughter of the late Napoleon and Therese Laroque (née Prieur) predeceased.

Adored mother to her children, Gilbert Jr. (predeceased), Nancy-Lee Asselin (Mike) and Tammy-Lynn, all of Markstay, ON. Cherished “Gramma” of Ryan, Chelsea-Lee (Clinton Taylor) and special “Great Gramma” to Noah.

Dear sister of Paulette Kenney (husband Frank –predeceased), Diane Poitras ( husband Richard), Louise Laroque, Rose Marie Routliffe (husband Brian), Jeannine Blais (husband Aime), Verna Whynott (husband Ralph), Lou Chamberlain (husband Pat). Predeceased by her loving brothers, Victor (Ruby), Ray (Verna predeceased) and Sylvester.

Special sister-in-law to Alan Boxwell (Elaine) and Marion Harvey.

Affectionately remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends, especially by her dearest friends Sue Gordon (Bev), Sandra Mixemong (Ivan predeceased) and Brenda Whynott (Tom).

Devoted canine mom to her little Mini.

Everyone who knew ‘Mou” would agree that she had a heart of gold!!! Always there to lend a helping hand and one of the best darn cooks anyone could ask for. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, loved to play cards with friends and family and enjoyed telling stories from her past. She will be missed by everyone who knew her!!!

A Celebration of Marielle’s Life, for close friends and family, will be held at the Markstay Golden Age Club on Church Street in Markstay, ON, Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 2:00p.m. – 4:00p.m. .
