Boulanger, Michael Charles

It is with great sorrow and sadness, the family of Michael “Mike” Boulanger announces his sudden and devastating passing in a workplace accident on Friday, May 6, 2022, at the young age of 40.

Born on March 31st, 1982 Mike leaves behind his loving Mother Lynda Boulanger, 2 Children a Daughter Jana and a Son Kowen all of Cartier. Lovingly missed by his Girlfriend Leah-Ann Lightfoot of Levack. Also mourning this great loss are his Uncle, Moe Boulanger of Cartier, and his Aunts Alice Boulanger (Brian) and Madelaine Dumont (Joffre) both of Mattawa. Special Cousin/Honorary Sibling to Lisa (Joe) – Shelly, P.J. (Gen) – Jenny (J.P), Miranda (Michelle), Kelly, Kurtis (Stephanie) and Logan. Also missed by numerous family members. Predeceased by his Grandparents Noel and Laura Boulanger, Godmother Diane Dumont and 2 Aunts Gail & Noella and Uncles Peter & Darrell. Mike worked for the Greater City of Sudbury as a utility person since 2018, his workplace bestie Wendy Patterson and many co-workers will miss him immensely. Mike joined the Cartier Volunteer Fire Department at the young age of 16 years old. After completing 20 years of service on both first response and fire department he was awarded Captain. His mentor/friend Fire Chief Sue Loranger will forever miss him and says she “will never be able to fill his boots”.

Mike was an avid hunter, fisherman, hockey and baseball player, a diehard Habs fan and all-around great jokester and prankster. All would say his laughter and smile were absolutely without a doubt infectious. Our little town of Cartier and everyone who knew and loved him will forever remember Mike as a friend/mentor and someone they could rely on for just about anything.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Parish Church, Cartier, ON at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery (24 Elm Street, Cartier, ON). Followed by a Celebration of Mike’s Life at the Cartier Volunteer Fire Department (9 Cedar St, Cartier, ON). In lieu of flowers donations to the Cartier Volunteer Fire Department in memory of Mike would be greatly appreciated.

RIP “Boulanger”

  12. Condolences to the family and friends. I am coworker of Mike’s and worked with him for a few years. He was always a pleasure to talk with whether it was baseball or even hockey, which we played together on Sunday night men’s league in Azilda. He always had a smile on his face and making jokes every chance he got which was infectious where ever he went. Mike will greatly be missed. Rest in peace brother.
