The family announces with sorrow the passing of Laurette Blais (nee Richer) at Pioneer Manor on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the age of 91.
Beloved wife of Léo Blais (Predeceased, Chelmsford). Daughter of the Late Hyacinthe Richer and Rosa Richer (nee Kingsley). Special aunt “mother” to Jacqueline Coghlan (Denis) both predeceased, Richard(predeceased) (Denise), Gerald (Loretta), Bernard(predeceased) (Sandra), Huguette Blais (Réjean Remillard), Suzanne Sonier (Raymond), Rolland (Pauline), Réjean (Predeceased). Predeceased by her siblings Theresa Pajuluoma (Henry), Laurent, Conrad (Colette), Raymond, Jeanne Pelletier (Jean-Louis), Cyril (Louise). Survived by her sister Rita Bigelow and her husband Ken.
Laurette enjoyed helping others and was an avid bingo player as well as a great bowler. She was at her happiest when fishing and camping at their cottage. The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Manor, and especially of the Trillium Wing for their care and compassion given to our aunt “mother” over the many years.
As requested by Laurette, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will be held for the immediate family at a later date. Donations can be made directly to a charity of choice.
