Berger, Delmar Harold – 1938-2020

In loving memory of Delmar (Del) Berger, who lost his valiant fight, early Good Friday morning. Del was born September 22, 1938, in Port Loring, On., to Mildred (Thompson) and Harold Berger (both predeceased). Big brother to Karen Berger (predeceased) and Sandra Potter (partner Rick Webb). He leaves behind his loving wife, Dolores (St-Germain) Berger of 57 years, and his three children whom he adored beyond measure, Derrick Berger (Paulette predeceased) Dawn (Theo Noel de Tilly) and David Berger. Mourning their beloved grandpa is Stephanie St Pierre (Cody Proulx), Devon Noel de Tilly (Janet), Nathan Noel de Tilly, Madison Berger (partner Mitchell Haid), Nicholas Berger and Darryl Mckee.  He will be lovingly remembered by his pride and joy, his great-granddaughters Sophie and Paisley Proulx. Also survived by his aunt, Marlene Thompson and Uncle Duncan Mac Donald and by his Great Aunt Ena Brooks at 102 years young.  Del had a close relationship with his mother-in-law and father-in-law Aurore and E.J. St-Germain (predeceased) and best friend and brother-in-law, Albert (Bert) Guitard and sister-in-law Mickey (St Germain) Guitard (both predeceased), brother-in-law to Jean-Claude St Germain (predeceased) Germaine.  He also leaves behind many close cousins and loving nieces and nephews and great friends. Special words of gratitude to Del's many Doctors and Specialists who treated him through out many years of illnesses.  We would like to thank the caring and devoted Nurses and PSWs, at Health Sciences North 5th floor step-down, 6 South and 4 North Palliative Wing. Also, would like to acknowledge the Community Paramedic Program, the Memorial STATS Program, Home Care Services and Care Partners, whose staff were an asset to Del's well being. Del loved spending time outdoors, especially at their camping trailer, telling stories and sharing jokes and laughter by the campfire.  He was a strong man who took a hands-on approach to life and he will be forever missed and as quoted by a friend. 'Death ends the Life, not a relationship".  A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Delmar’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice.

  1. Hey Grandpa,
reading the messages from those who knew and loved you brings me such comfort. I know it calls your angel wings closer to me. I wish I could ask you so many questions about our family in Arnstein because I know you would have so many answers. I hate how I forget so many of the stories you did tell me. But I remember a lot so I will hold onto those, and whatever other answers I seek I know you will tell me in my dreams. I miss you and love you. your little girl, Madison xo
