(also known as Toolcrab / Fogerty)
Brent Gary Bentley passed away on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brent is survived by his loving wife, Dianna; his children Melissa (Jamie) and Scott (Amanda); and his cherished grandchildren Jackson, Owen, Reid, and Addison, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother Perry (Kim), along with many aunts, nieces, and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Brent was preceded in death by his mother Sheila, his father Nelson, and his sister Debbie (Robert), whom he loved dearly.
Brent had a deep passion for the outdoors and could often be found hunting or fishing, places where he felt most at peace. Nothing, however, meant more to him than watching his grandkids play sports—he was their biggest supporter and proudest fan.
Known for his sharp wit and mischievous sense of humor, Brent was also famously known as a tormentor, especially at his workplace, Domtar, where his pranks, jokes, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on coworkers and friends alike.
Brent’s legacy lives on through the laughter he shared, the memories he created, and the love he gave his family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence can never be replaced.
He will be missed more than words can express.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Tracy Nadeau, the entire 4th floor nurses and PSWs at HSN and everyone at the Cancer Centre for their exceptional care, compassion, and support. At Brent’s request, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made directly to a charity of your choice.
